Board Appoints Dakota Sawyer as Class II Operator
misc · Meeting of July 20, 2026
PA CHARLESTON — Charleston Township Board unanimously appoints Dakota Sawyer as its new Class II operator. The Board approved Sawyer for the vacant position with an August 1, 2026 start date after Chris Redell declined the role. The Board also referred a Lot Addition application from Cathy and Tim Driebelbies to the Zoning Hearing Board for a variance, as Lot B does not meet the required 2-acre minimum.
During visitor comments, residents raised ongoing concerns including noise from the Shelman Compressor Station, employee health insurance, spending limits, and road maintenance issues on Sheer Road, with Supervisor Gary Phelps pledging to address these matters at the August 3 meeting.
